Whispers of the Holy Spirit

One of the beautiful things happening right now at The Wilderness Place is the revealing of the river described in Ezekial 47. We hear His whisper to go deeper with Him. Ezekial is telling us about a river that flows from the temple and the further you go into the river the deeper it gets. As beloved sons and beloved daughters, we are now the temple of the Holy Spirit. We have rivers of living water bubbling up in us. The deeper we go with Him really is determined by how much we trust Him.

The longer you wade around in ankle- and knee-deep water the more comfortable you get with your walk with Jesus. When we are comfortable, we stop depending on Him and become self-sufficient. There could be a couple of reasons we only splash around in ankle deep water. One is you feel like your struggles disqualify you from really experiencing the Holy Spirit. The more you behold your struggles the more power you give them. We must continue to behold His eyes. As you look into the eyes of your Abba you will see His delight in you despite your struggles and frustrations. The second reason is you don’t want to relinquish full control of your life to Him. This is really hard for all of us, but it shouldn’t be. We must believe He is for us and everything He has for us is so much better than what we can think or imagine. One of the reasons I struggle to allow Him full control is I have a hard time waiting for Him to tell me what I should do. Lord, I need to make a decision now! He always responds to me, “why?”

We must slow down. We all have people looking at us for the answers, but it is better to be led by His voice than our opinions. The lovely aspect of Abba is He never leaves us. Even in our frustrations, disappointments, hasty decisions, and loud opinions, He is whispering to us to come to Him. “Sit my, child. Let me love you. In my love you will hear My directions and know My heart for you and your legacy.”

We are on a journey in this river of living water, and we are excited to go deeper with the Holy Spirit to allow this river of living water to flow to others around us. He’s ready to flow and move but we must get out of the way to let Him. His invitation is extended to you today- “Sit my, child. Let Me love you.”
